LASER DEPILATION
IPL is a type of photodepilation involving the removal of hair using a beam of electromagnetic radiation, or simply light. IPL is short for Intense Pulsed Light, which means intense pulsed light. The head of the IPL device emits a beam of light rays of different lengths, which allows it to reach hair follicles located shallower or deeper in the layers of the dermis through the epidermis.
The light has a selective effect only on the pigment in the hair (melanin), so the neighbouring tissues are completely safe. Melanin absorbs the energy of electromagnetic radiation, intensely increasing the temperature of the hair. This results in the complete destruction of the hair follicle.
Laser hair removal is extremely effective because the radiance of the laser beam can be converted directly into heat energy. The light is attracted to the pigment in the hair. The dark pigment absorbs it and converts it into heat, which then affects the hair follicles, destroying their structure and preventing strands from growing again.
To permanently damage the structure of the hair, it is sufficient to destroy its root, which is the place where the blood supplies the hair with the oxygen necessary for growth, as well as the stem cells responsible for the regeneration of the hair strand. The darker and thicker the hair is, the more pigment it contains, and it also absorbs much lighter. It is therefore crucial not to pluck the hair before the treatment itself, as once you have got rid of the hair, there is no possibility for the laser beam to affect the structure of the hair follicle.
A very important aspect to bear in mind with laser hair removal is that such a treatment must be repeated at least several times, on a regular basis, in order to achieve a lasting and desired effect. Cyclicity is necessary because body hair does not grow evenly in all areas.

-
Do not tan at least 2 - 3 weeks before the treatment - neither in the sun nor in a tanning bed. Although modern lasers are also able to remove hair with dark skin, a fresh tan can make your skin hypersensitive to the laser light and susceptible to damage.
